Some features of wavefront reversal under conditions of stimulated Brillouin scattering in a plasma

I. M. Bel'dyugin, M. G. Galushkin, V. N. Soshnikov
Abstract: The plasma parameters required for wavefront reversal under conditions of stimulated Brillouin scattering (STBS) of CO2 laser radiation are determined theoretically. It is shown that absorption of signal radiation and attenuation of ion-sound have a strong influence on the STBS efficiency and severely limit the range of plasma and radiation parameters in which this scattering is efficient.
