Tunable carbon monoxide laser

V. I. Masychev, V. G. Plotnichenko, V. K. Sysoev
Abstract: The spectral and energy (power) characteristics of a sealed carbon monoxide laser were investigated utilizing selective and nonselective optical resonators. A 100 line/mm diffraction grating with a blaze angle of 30° was used in the selective resonator. It served as the laser coupling-out element. The emission spectrum of the tunable CO laser contained 90 lines in the range 1626–1910 cm–1, with powers of between 10 mW and 1.36 W. In the case of the nonselective resonator, 36 laser emission lines were obtained, having a total power of around 13 W.
