Control of the duration of CO2 laser pulses by an intracavity infrared-absorbing gas cell

G. N. Makarov
Abstract: The red shift of the infrared absorption spectrum of vibrationally excited molecules can be used to provide dynamic control of the duration of infrared laser pulses. A method is described for controlling the duration of CO2 laser pulses using an intracavity infrared absorbing gas cell and the first results of the method are presented.
