Abstract:
A numerical investigation is made of the spreading of femtosecond light pulses in some nonlinear optical crystals, and also in air and water. The published experimental values of the refractive index are used in these calculations. The dispersion spreading lengths are determined. The characteristics of spreading of frequency-modulated femtosecond pulses are established.
