Abstract:
A theoretical investigation is made of an optically controlled light modulator comprising a photoconductor and an electrooptic material, and characterized by an internal electrooptic feedback under data storage conditions. The feedback is established by placing electrooptic layers and a Polaroid on the recording side. It is known that the feedback makes it possible to improve considerably the characteristics of the existing modulators and also to construct new optical devices with a variety of nonlinear characteristics.
