Cherenkov laser under conditions of total internal reflection

S. G. Oganesyan
Full-text PDF (896 kB) Citations (2)
Abstract: An analysis is made of the amplification of an electromagnetic wave in a planar waveguide as a result of the stimulated Cherenkov effect. Gains are obtained for two limiting cases: when the amplification is governed by the energy scatter of the beam and when it is governed by the spectral envelope of the spontaneous radiation emitted by electrons. A comparison of these two cases is made.
