Brief Communications

Use of fiber-optical systems in the formation of a synthesized interference field

A. V. Gnatovskiĭ, N. V. Medved', M. T. Shpak
Abstract: An analysis is made of a method for improving spatial and angular characteristics of the field at the output of a multimode fiber or a bundle of fibers by a two-component correcting system comprising a spatial wavefront modulator and a hologram. Experimental results are reported to illustrate the possibility of replacing in many cases a one-mode fiber by a multimode fiber with a correcting attachment.
