Lasing in perylene vapor under the action of laser pumping in a wide spectral range

L. A. Barkova, V. V. Gruzinskiĭ, V. I. Danilova, K. M. Degtyarenko, T. N. Kopylova
Abstract: Lasing in perylene vapor mixed with pentane was obtained by pumping in several absorption bands (λp = 420, 350, and 248 nm). The duration of the lasing pulse when excited by hard quanta (λp = 248 nm) was close to that of the pump pulse (7 nsec). The spectroscopic and lasing properties of perylene vapor are discussed, in particular, the feasibility of lasing under the action of wideband pumping.
