Abstract: The problem of transmission of an ultrashort laser pulse by a thin semiconductor film in the exciton part of the spectrum is solved for low excitation levels. Analytic solutions of the equations describing the dynamics of the exciton – photon interaction are obtained for homogeneous thin films and for films with an inhomogeneously broadened exciton system.
