Abstract:
The Monte Carlo method was used to investigate the propagation of light pulses in a randomly inhomogeneous medium under conditions of thermal self-defocusing. The medium was divided into layers, each of which was represented by a combination of a phase screen, a thin thermal lens, and a region of free diffraction. A set of solutions of the dynamic problem of the propagation of a beam across such a sequence of layers was used to find the time dependences of the statistical characteristics.
