Full-text PDF (863 kB) Citations (1)
Abstract: Methods for fabricating strip diffused waveguides in glass and for determining their parameters were developed. A study was made of the mode composition of the radiation in strip waveguides of different width and the results were used to determine the refractive index profile across the depth and width of the strip waveguides. It was found that metal ions diffused under a mask and this altered the dimensions of strip waveguides.
