Microrecording of information by a laser projection method

Abstract: Consideration is given to the possibility of constructing a laser system for the microrecording of alphanumeric information using the projection method. The information is recorded in thin films by evaporating the film material with a laser beam passed through a mask with cuts representing the selected symbols. It is shown that this method can be used to record symbols of 7–10-μ size on a film, which corresponds to a recording density of 106–107 bit/cm2.
