Abstract:
A discharge tube with a slitlike hollow cathode and a large number of anodes was constructed for the investigation of metal vapor lasers. The intensities of the lines emitted by a helium-cadmium ion laser were determined as a function of the metal vapor pressure, gas pressure, and discharge current when these parameters were varied independently within a wide range.
