Rubidium laser with zero frequency shift caused by a buffer gas

Abstract: An investigation was made of an optically pumped rubidium laser with its resonator filled with a nitrogen–methane gas mixture. Conditions under which the shift of the transition frequency was zero were determined for a nitrogen–methane mixture. Under these conditions the output power was 3–10–10 W.
