Temperature dependence of the two-photon absorption coefficient of cadmium and zinc diphosphides

Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the dependence of the two-photon absorption coefficient on the forbidden-band width of CdP$_2$ and ZnP$_2$ at neodymium laser radiation frequencies. It was found that this dependence was $\beta\sim(2\hbar\omega-E_g)^{1/2}$, typical of the allowed-allowed transitions.
