Abstract: A D2 + F2 + CO2 + He pulsed chemical laser was put into operation at nearly atmospheric pressures in the mixture. The principal characteristics of the laser were the energy per pulse ~5 J, specific energy yield 1.2·10–2 J/cm3, and pulse duration ~ 10 μsec. It was found experimentally that the CO2 molecules inhibited the branched-chain self-ignition process. The use of photoinitiating components increased the utilization efficiency of the laser.
