Influence of the gas composition of the active medium of a carbon monoxide laser on the room-temperature output power

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the dependence of the output power of a CO laser on the composition of the working gas mixture cooled by running water. It was established that the most efficient mixture was one of the composition CO:N2:He:O2:Xe = 1:5:24:0.04:1 kept at a total pressure of 20 mm Hg and excited with a current i = 20 mA.
