Abstract: The anisotropy of the low-frequency electrooptical properties of lithium iodate crystals was investigated in terms of the nonlinear refractive index. A comparison of the data on the dispersion of the permittivity and of the nonlinear refractive index showed that the linear and nonlinear polarizations of lithium iodate are of different origins at frequencies of up to 107 Hz.
