Abstract:
A description is given of a lidar system based on an excimer KrF laser with hydrogen and deuterium SRS converters, designed for measuring the daytime and nighttime ozone concentrations at altitudes 0.3 — 5 km by a differential absorption method. An investigation of the evolution of the concentration of the tropospheric ozone over a period of 24 hours, and also over a longer period, demonstrated that the system can be used to monitor regularly the tropospheric ozone and its chemical transformations.
