Monochromatization and tuning of the frequency of infrared radiation emitted by a nitrogen laser

V. N. Lisitsyn, P. L. Chapovskii, A. A. Chernenko
Abstract: Laser emission was observed in the form of separate rotational lines of the vibrational bands of the first positive system of molecular nitrogen. The emission frequency was tuned between discrete lines in the (1, 0) and (2, 0) bands. A study was made of the monochromaticity of the emission of this laser. It was found experimentally that the width of a single line did not exceed 250 MHz.
