Spectroscopic methods for diagnostics of superdense hot plasma
A. V. Vinogradov, I. I. Sobel'man, E. A. Yukov
Abstract:
A review is given of the capabilities of spectroscopic methods for diagnostics of superdense plasma in a wide range of temperatures and densities. A detailed analysis is given of four methods based on: 1) broadening and shift of the x-ray lines of ions; 2) measurement of the relative intensities of intercornbination and resonance lines; 3) appearance of plasma satellites; 4) Raman scattering of x rays (produced by an external source) on Langrauir plasma oscillations. It is shown that a combination of all four methods provides diagnostic means for investigating piasmas with electron densities of 1022–1026 cm–3 and with temperatures in therange 0.1–10 keV.
