Utilization of the birefringence induced in neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet active elements in the generation of polarized light

Abstract:
A new method is suggested for generating polarized radiation by utilizing pumping-induced birefringence in neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet elements. The method was tested experimentally.
