Abstract:
A many-level model is used in a theoretical analysis of a pulsed chemical H2 — F2 laser with an active medium which may contain fine particles. Numerical investigations are reported of new dynamic photon branching regimes caused by the evaporation of aluminium particles under the action of laser radiation. A two-phase active medium of an HF oscillator, the action of which is initiated by UV radiation, is considered and the conditions are found for photon branching with doubling of the output energy. A photon-branched reaction is shown to occur in the active medium of an H2 — F2 amplifier under the conditions of autowave propagation in space. This makes it possible to reach much higher values of the energy gain than in the dynamic regime with ‘transmission’ through the whole volume, which has been investigated earlier.
