Optical characteristics of a laser plasma in the late stages of expansion

L. T. Sukhov
Abstract: The radiation emitted by a laser plasma expanding into a gaseous atmosphere was investigated. The plasma radiation was shown to consist of several components. Spatial and temporal measurements of the plasma radiation components were made at different pressures of the atmosphere surrounding the laser jet. The optimal conditions for performing analytical measurements were found. Estimates were obtained of the detection limits for laser spectral analysis.
