Stimulated Brillouin scattering of focused beams in an amplifying medium

A. F. Vasil'ev, V. E. Yashin
Abstract: A study was made of stimulated Brillouin scattering of focused beams in an amplifying medium consisting of neodymium phosphate glass. The dependences of the reduction of the threshold and of the increase in the reflection coefficient on the gain and length of the scattering medium were obtained. A determination was made of the precision of wavefront reversal in the case of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous beams.
