Mode-locked generation of transverse modes in a neodymium laser with a positive electrooptic feedback
A. V. Agashkov
Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental investigations were made of the intensity kinetics and of the emission spectrum of a laser operating in the regime of transverse mode locking. A study was made of the role of phase relationships between the modes and the symmetry of the spatialtemporal scanning of the intensity in the near-field zone was analyzed. It was found that the spatial coherence of a superposition of degenerate modes is complete irrespective of deformations, amplitude-phase relationships, and mode parity. It was found experimentally that locked generation of transverse modes is the most probable operating regime of a neodymium laser with a positive electrooptic feedback.
