Aperture tagging based on transient parameters of an optical field in a nonlinear medium

Abstract:
An aperture tagging algorithm was used in a numerical analysis of the efficiency of adaptive focusing of laser beams under conditions of transient wind refraction. The time needed for the optimization of the beam parameters was reduced by control, in the observation plane, based on a transient field. The optimal length of a gradient step was selected for this control method and it ensured the maximum response speed and stability of the control algorithm.
