Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental investigations are reported of the propagation of infrared radiation in metallic capillaries. The eigenfunctions, the polarization state, and excitation conditions are determined. A study is reported of the dependence of the absorption of infrared radiation on the angle of convergence of a laser beam. Numerical results are in agreement with experiments.
