Analysis of the excitation and relaxation kinetics in a copper vapor laser excited by a longitudinal discharge

Abstract:
The main results are given of numerical calculations of the kinetics of a copper vapor laser under most typical real operating conditions. These results are used to analyze the general pattern of physical processes in a discharge plasma which govern the lasing parameters and a simple formula is derived for estimating the output energy.
