Efficient up-conversion of the frequency of neodymium laser radiation to the visible range in calcium vapor

Abstract:
Neodymium laser radiation of 0.1 W power was converted efficiently from λ = 1.06 μ to the visible wavelength λ =418 nm using a resonant four-photon parametric process in calcium vapor. The power conversion efficiency was ~2%.
