Collisionless dissociation of molecules due to their interaction with infrared radiation
L. I. Trakhtenberg, G. M. Milikh
Abstract:
A theoretical analysis is made of collisionless dissociation of molecules in an infrared laser radiation field. A study is made of the passage through lower discrete levels and attainment of continuum, followed by the excitation of molecules right up to the dissociation limit. A study is made of the dependence of the rate of dissociation on the field intensity and radiation frequencies; the results are shown to be in agreement with the experimental data.
