Abstract:
Planar focusers ensuring formation of an axially asymmetric distribution of the intensity of CO2 laser radiation, of the type used in ophthalmic surgery, are described and considered. Special attention is given to laser treatment of myopia (laser keratotomy). The promising nature of the proposed method is demonstrated.
