Frequency modulation of radiation from a two-section injection laser with a coupled resonator

Abstract: Determination was made of the spectral characteristics of two-section injection lasers with a coupled resonator (also known as a coupled cleaved cavity or C3). The process of frequency tuning by variation of the injection current in the controlled section of the laser was studied. When frequency was modulated by a microwave current, the mode switching time was less than 100 psec.
