Abstract: An investigation was made of the transparency, homogeneity, and optical strength of KDP and DKDP crystals grown at rates much higher (by a factor of 25–30) than usual. A comparison was made with the properties of crystals grown at conventional rates. The results indicated that, in principle, it should be possible to grow in this way crystals suitable for use in quantum electronics.
