Resolution and sensitivity of a spatial and temporal light modulator with an anisotropic electrooptic crystal

Abstract: Calculations are reported of the resolution and sensitivity of a spatial and temporal light modulator which is controlled optically with the aid of an anisotropic electrooptic crystal. The influence of a dielectric mirror is allowed for. It is shown that a calculation carried out using a simplified model employed in earlier work overestimates the results. The calculated data are compared with the experimentally determined modulator parameters.
