Abstract: A study was made of new classes of ultraviolet dyes for use as bleachable filters of radiation of the 308 nm wavelength. The saturation characteristics were determined for some dyes belonging to the oxazole and imidazole series. It was found that some of them could be used effectively as saturable absorbers for the radiation emitted by XeCl lasers.
