Abstract:
Problems associated with the observation of generation of electron-positron pairs in a laser plasma are considered. A simple method is suggested for detecting single positrons against the background of other particles emitted by a plasma: it involves the use of a magnetic device based on a current-carrying linear conductor (this device can be called a drift magnetic separator). The operating principle and construction of a drift magnetic separator are described and the results of its application are given.
