Abstract:
A theoretical analysis is made of a gas laser with an internal absorption cell operating in the regime of selflocking of two orthogonally polarized modes with a finite spatial shift along the resonator axis. It is shown that the radiation emitted by such a laser exhibits polarization resonances. Potential applications of these resonances in ultrahigh-sensitivity spectroscopy are considered.
