High-sensitivity atmospheric gas analysis based on intracavity laser detection of scattered radiation

Abstract:
A method of atmospheric gas analysis, based on intracavity detection of scattered radiation, is proposed and investigated. A theory of the method is developed for incoherent detection of the radiation in a laser and its possibilities are estimated. Investigations of intracavity lidar systems utilizing ruby, neodymium glass, and argon lasers are described.
