Laser synthesis of V2O5 crystals with highly developed surfaces

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the laser synthesis of V2O5 crystals with large surface areas (these crystals are used as a catalyst in chemical reactions). It was found that the effective surface area of these crystals could be increased by a factor of 103–104, which should make the crystals highly useful in chemical engineering.
