Abstract:
Lasing was observed when Cd3(AsxP1–x)2 solid solutions were pumped with optical radiation. The lasing wavelength depending on the composition x ranging from 2.14 μ (x = 0) to 2.45 μ (x = 0.11) at 105 °K. The half-width of the spectrum did not exceed 20 cm–1. The characteristics of the energy band structure of Cd3(AsxP1–x)2 were used in an analysis of the reasons responsible for the steep rise of the lasing threshold in the composition range x > 0.1.
