Investigation of the optical inhomogeneities of the active medium of a fast-flow CO2 laser with mixing

Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the gas temperature, spatial distribution of the gain, and optical inhomogeneities in a fast-flow CO2 laser with mixing. The results obtained were compared with those calculated using a model of instantaneous homogeneous mixing. An estimate was obtained of the influence of optical inhomogeneities of the active medium on the spatial characteristics of the output radiation.
