Determination of the effective stimulated emission cross section for a neodymium laser with a selective resonator

Full-text PDF (656 kB) Citations (1)
Abstract: A new method is proposed for determining σeff and σ 0eff. It is shown that as a result of the extremal variation of the gain and of the selective properties of a Fabry–Perot interferometer inserted in the resonator, kinetic equations for an inhomogeneously broadened line can be simplified considerably and an analytic relationship between σeff and the experimentally determined parameters can be obtained fairly easily.
