Amplification of high-intensity ultrashort pulses of infrared radiation in low-pressure transversely excited CO2 amplifiers
V. D. Taranukhin
Abstract:
It is shown that when high-intensity ultrashort radiation pulses are amplified in a transversely excited CO2 amplifier, lifting of the spatial degeneracy of the CO2-molecule vibrational levels by the optical Stark effect makes it possible to reduce the pressure of the amplifier active medium to a few atmospheres.
