Abstract:
A cell containing a mixture of benzene and toluene was inserted in a transversely pumped external resonator and one Stokes component of stimulated Raman scattering was excited from each material. This radiation gave stable beats with a period of 3 psec on the photocathode of an image converter. The beat signals could be used as calibration time intervals.
