Local light-induced phase separation of binary liquid solutions

Abstract:
Light-induced barodiffusion is shown to be the dominant mechanism of local phase separation of liquid solutions in the field of short laser pulses. This effect is utilised in an experimental method for determination of the spinodal and binodal curves of a solution.
