Determination of temperature of steel 45 subjected to neodymium glass laser pulses

K. Rozniakowski, S. Włodarczuk, A. Drobnik
Abstract: Surface hardening was used to determine the temperature of the surface of a steel 45 sample with a roughness of 1.2 μ in a region irradiated with pulses from a glass neodymium laser (λ = 1.06 μ, τi = 2 msec, Ei = 1.5 J). Calculations were made allowing for a delay Δτt, during which the temperature reached its maximum value at a depth z>0.
