Focusing of radiation by a prism array

Abstract: It is shown that focusing of coherent radiation by a prism array (raster) gives rise–in the focal plane of the array–to strong intensity peaks due to interference. It is concluded that in the case of high-coherence laser radiation it is insufficient to use just prism arrays to obtain a near-uniform intensity distribution.
