Depolarization of monochromatic radiation in an electrooptic switch

Abstract: It is shown that an electrooptic Pockels cell can be used to obtain radiation with zero time-average polarization. Possible ways of operating such a depolarizer are considered. The results are given of an experiment involving depolarization of laser radiation by an ML-5 electrooptic switch.
