Dye-solution lasers pumped with transverse-discharge flashlamps

K. K. Trusov
Abstract: Results are presented of an experimental investigation of the brightness of radiation from a flashlamp with a transverse discharge of ~100 nsec duration and an energy of up to 110 J. The lasing parameters of solutions of three dyes pumped by this flashlamp are also given. The feasibility of increasing the discharge energy of these lamps whilst conserving the short duration is discussed.
